Centric to Air Heavy D Tribute Documentary ‘Be Inspired’ [Preview Clips]
When Heavy D performed a medley of his greatest hits at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards in early October, no one could imagine that it would mark his last televised performance. Born Dwight Myers, the “Overweight Lover” who built a career off his danceable tunes throughout the late 80s and 90s, passed away less than a month later, shocking his family, friends and fans.
In remembrance of his life and musical legacy, Centric will air Be Inspired: The Life of Heavy D, a one-hour original documentary that chronicles his life and career. Vintage interviews and performances will be intertwined with personal reflections from family and celebrity friends including, Will Smith, Mary J. Blige, Eddie F., Anthony Hamilton, Queen Latifah and Kim Fields.
The documentary will also feature emotional coverage of his funeral services in his native Mount Vernon, NY, off set by an original score by acclaimed musician and composer George Duke.
An avid user of Twitter, on the day of his death, November 8, the 44 year old performer left what would be his last tweet: “Be Inspired.”—words that would ring true for the world of hip-hop, and the new generation of music listeners discovering his music for the first time.

I think everyone is familiar with these things (SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA).
So, to begin with, my goverment and Copyright keeping associasons started a huge serie of razzias, during parties all across the country.
Only this year, 5 DJ-s were cought for not paying the copyright usage for parties (3 were cought in the same town, in the same time).
These razzias were arranged mostly on places that were not checked for the long time, but Associacion Agents are still very active all across my country.
I think there are situations like this in every country, and also checks every day.
So my word calls for people who don't pay the copyrights:
Start paying, or stop working. This is not fair for DJ-s who pay, and perform legally.
You WILL be cought, no matter where you live, they will catch you, and this is not a joke.

BMI to Participate in AIMP & CCC’s 2nd Annual Music Industry Toolbox
The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and The California Copyright Conference (CCC) will co-host the second annual Music Industry Toolbox, a business-to-business event featuring global rights leader BMI, premier digital music marketing firms, music management software and services essential to music publishers, record labels and other sectors of the music business.
The free event will be held at The Sportsmen’s Lodge (12825 Ventura Boulevard in Studio City), on Wednesday February 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will give music industry professionals an opportunity to meet with providers in an intimate setting that includes demonstrations and workshops. There will also be a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.
Attendees will be able to speak to representatives from BMI, as well as learn about the latest in digital music marketing; software for rights management, royalty accounting and product licensing; software for music management including leading sound recognition companies and leaders in search, distribution, meta-tagging and cue sheet production; and services to uncover mechanical and performance royalties.
Exhibitors will showcase their software and services in the main room as well as offer workshops in a private demonstration room. Last year’s highly successful inaugural Music Industry Toolbox drew more than 400 attendees.
